The Story of Why I Love Where I Live

Inspired by the Desert. Built for Community.

Why I Love Where I Live began with a simple act of gratitude, a way to honor the feeling of home, community, and place in the desert Southwest. What started in Tucson grew into a living philosophy: where you live shapes how you see the world, and paying attention to place can reveal beauty and connection.

Our first storefront opened in the heart of the Mercado San Agustín Annex, a vibrant hub of local shops, creative artisans, and shared spaces. There, we curate goods that reflect the spirit of Tucson: locally inspired clothing, home goods, accessories, art, books, and carefully crafted pieces that bring to mind desert skies, saguaros, and the everyday magic of place.

In 2023, we opened a second storefront at Epicenter at Agritopia in Gilbert. Built around an urban farm, village-style living, walkable streets, and shared spaces, this thoughtfully designed community reflected our belief that home is more than a building. Our Gilbert storefront has since closed, but the people, stories, and shared roots we found there remain part of WILWIL’s story.

More than a shop, WILWIL is a movement rooted in gratitude, curiosity, and connection. We believe in honoring the history, beauty, and everyday wonders of where we live. Through thoughtfully designed goods and community engagement, we invite locals and visitors alike to slow down, notice what surrounds them, and celebrate the places that shape them.

Why I Love Where I Live

Our mission: Cultivate love for place. Support local makers. Inspire gratitude.

We believe loving where you live changes how you move through the world. It deepens community ties, supports local economies, and inspires people to show up for the places they call home. Our stores are small reminders to slow down, look around, and find joy in the details of everyday life.
